Science Eye, a science and environmental education consulting company located in Broward County but also serves and travels to Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties, is looking for passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated part-time & full-time science education consultants/instructors/educators. 

Science Eye staff are honest, caring and have a contagious, positive energy who are willing to be dynamic presenters. These positions implement school district science standards through hands-on, inquiry-based, experiential programs that enable students to explore the world around them, gain new insights and make them aware that science is an exciting part of everything they do. 

We work with public and private schools as well as homeschools, Scouts and other groups who want science education programs. Our goal is to have fun while instilling self-confidence, develop critical thinking skills and to create a positive relationship with the environment.

Job Summary:

In-The-Field 

Both of our all-school-day field programs often meets students/groups at their school and ride a bus to our field location. Our main program is the Everglades Experience and takes place at Sawgrass Recreation Park. The other occasional field program is the Coastal Exploration to Mizell-Johnson State Park. 

In-The-Class 

In-School topics may include Earth, physics & engineering, life, and social sciences. These in-class field trips are usually 1-1.5 hours long each and may be half-a-day, or throughout the entire school day. Programs mostly are in Broward, but may be anywhere in the tri-county area. 

After School 

Topics may include the same as the In-The-Class programs, but are after school at various schools. Most currently take place in Miami-Dade, but may be anywhere in the tri-cunty area. (most often1 hour, but may be longer)

Weekends, Breaks & Camps

Any programs we offer during the school day may take place on weekends and over school breaks/camps. Weekend programs are not common and are verified with staff before booking. 

Qualifications:

Applicants must have:

• Valid driver’s license

• Pass a fingerprint background check

• Be a U.S. citizen or foreign citizen’s U.S. work permit

• Have the means to drive themselves with equipment throughout the tri-county area

• Have or will obtain 1st Aid/CPR certification

To successfully perform within this position, applicants should be engaging, be able to work independently, effectively communicate, be able to work outside in the Southeast Florida’s environments all day, and be able to work with children who possess a diverse array of learning modalities.

Terms & Employment:

Training begins in September. Most programs are mid-October-May, Monday – Friday during the school day, approximately between 7:00am – 4:30pm depending on the school. There are occasional special time after school, evening and weekend programs – special time programs would be confirmed with staff before booking. There are possible opportunities for programs and science camp over the summer months as well.  Our opportunity to educate is when students are in school/camp.
