Ages 7 and up Perfect for Camp and Weekend Outings!
Step into Florida’s unique natural treasure and the only ecosystem of its kind on the planet! The survival of the Earth depends, in part, on the level of environmental awareness we develop in our children and maintain in ourselves.
Introduction, participants are immersed into an interactive history lesson of our Everglades and how we have changed it over the last 100 years.
Airboat ride, investigate the Everglades as it exists today as well as conduct bird identification and various water quality tests just like a real wildlife biologist in the field.
Lab, get a chance to catch and take a closer look at the small “critters” that make up part of the Everglades food web and food chain.
Nature hike, get a chance to experience some of the secrets the Native Americans knew about the plants and hydrology of the Everglades.
The Everglades Excursion takes place at the Science Eye Lab Shack in Conservation Area III in Broward County, Florida at Everglades Holiday Park (21940 Griffin Rd, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33332). Programs are 1:45 to 4 hours depending on the level you choose. May through October all levels take place in the morning hours to avoid the afternoon rains that occur during the wet season.
